Deckchute is a deck mounted portable system for gennaker and spinnaker launching and recovering in keelboats and multihulls
Deckchute was invented by a bowman Henrik Bartholin seeking a way to make shorthanded downwind sailing easy and safe, sailing with his family.
The family spends their summer holidays in Scandinavian waters, sailing long distances in all weather, day and night. The objective was to find a way to repeatedly launch and recover a gennaker without leaving the cockpit. The Deckchute prototype soon proved to be what he was looking for.
